Every mom across the world has to deal with a child throwing a temper tantrum. This is especially true for babies who don’t yet have the words for what’s upsetting them. And it turns out, it’s not just human mamas who have to deal with tantrums. A mama bulldog named Patches had to deal with her baby Elvis’ bad mood.
Elvis is an “only puppy” from his mother Patches. Elvis was born with a cleft lip and this makes it look like he has a permanent Elvis sneer, hence the name. His adorable sneer is not the only attitude Elvis has though, he has some major attitude. When he is unhappy everyone will hear about it, especially his mother.
Elvis’ cleft lip not only made him have an Elvis sneer, but it also caused a hard few weeks after his birth.Thankfully, Elvis had more than a caring dog mama, he also had a caring owner.
The owners state, “My wife bottle fed him until he was on solid food. He became a very strong, energetic, and physically active Bulldog.”
On this day Patches was watching Elvis very closely and Elvis was not having it!
Elvis had no problem getting right in his mother’s face and start to growl, except because he is still so small his growling is just adorable. He might think he is a tough one but, as they say, mother’s know best. Patches knows she is still the mom and she stays right where she is.
When Patches paw accidentally lands on Elvis’ face, that is when Elvis gets even louder with his tantrum. This even makes their owner say, while Elvis is still barking and growling at Patches,
“Oh, he is going to mad at you! Whoa, he is saying don’t do that. Oh, you’re a fierce bulldog, oh my.”
Patches keeps trying to get close to Elvis, but Elvis will not have it. He wants a break from his overprotective mom. Patches keeps trying to get close but soon has had enough herself.
So, she finally lays down a few feet away from Elvis.
What happened next shows that Elvis is just like every other baby, or should we say puppy.
Once Patches stops paying attention to Elvis, Elvis wants his mom. Elvis has to do the apology snuggles to try and get his mother to forgive him for the tantrum. Patches tries to ignore her for a bit, but there is no mother that could not forgive that cute face. It does not take long for Patches to snuggle with Elvis too.
Once Patches is given the chance, she starts to clean her pup. She has only wanted to take care of her puppy, like the great mom she is.
Elvis is a fierce little bulldog though and does not let his mother clean him for too long before she starts to bark at her again.
Elvis might have had a hard first few weeks of life, but he is making up for it now.
Elvis is not only loved by his dog mama, but by so many others around him. Patches’ owners let everyone know that,
“We gave him to a veterinary technician who always wanted a white bulldog, and she had helped treat him from birth. Everybody won with Elvis. We were blessed to have him, his new family was thrilled to get him. What he lacked in physical perfection, he made up for in personality.”
Even though Elvis can get grumpy at his times, his mama clearly still loves him with all her heart. We’re sure Elvis is going to have a wonderful life!
