Paralyzed and emaciated dog chained to a tree finally rescued

With the help of the local animal control inspector, the rescue volunteers were able to free the dog, which they called cute little Ottilia, which means the happy heroine, put it in a car and took it to the veterinarian for a checkup. Rescuers wrote: “She was paralyzed and overheated … her temperature was 103.7ºC when she went to the vet.

We did blood tests, x-rays and an examination. She had mild anemia, a low white blood cell count and was very dehydrated. ” The medical team speculated that Ottilia’s paralysis could have been caused by a flea bite. He arrived with ticks in his ears, but the tests were negative.

“The doctor found no fractures or injuries to the spine, but mentioned the possibility of a fungal infection or a tick-borne infection, although the test was negative.
