Meet Leyla and Bear, a couple of sweet dogs who understand that the finest times are spent together.
Look no farther than this innovative take on a classic game that Leyla and Bear created on their own to prove it.
The two dogs and their family just moved into a new home after years of living in an apartment, which has provided some new options for fun. They can genuinely play fetch now that they’re inside.
The dogs’ owner, Kristine Lequerique, told The Dodo, “We started by throwing the ball upstairs [from the living room] so they would have to run up and down the stairs.”
Leyla, on the other hand, elected to stay upstairs after the ball was thrown one day. Rather than running back down to return it, she “passed” it to Bear, who was waiting below, making the game equally enjoyable for everyone.
Here’s a video of them in action:
Lequerique was taken aback when he saw the form of fetch Leyla and Bear had devised.
She expressed her amazement by saying, “I was very surprised.” “And then it just went from there.”
Since then, all previous types of fetch have been abandoned (so to speak). They haven’t turned around since.
“Every day, all day, this happens. They can continue for hours or until we tell them to stop. Then they just keep throwing the ball at you till we restart,” Lequerique explained. “They’re incredibly intelligent.”
